Tourism Atherton Tablelands is will be running a social media campaign during early December targeted at the Townsville drive market. There is an opportunity for 5 members to buy into this campaign at $500 plus GST. This campaign will be underpinned with support from Tourism Atherton Tablelands.

The Discover TOURING MAP is a major in-print promotional vehicle for Discover Atherton Tablelands.

The Touring Map is designed to create awareness and interest in the destination and encourage visitors to extend their length of stay and leverages from the very popular visitors guide, Discover Atherton Tablelands.

The Touring Map targets the pre-arrival market through distribution to high-traffic visitor information centres, car rental companies, accommodation tour desks, attractions, caravan and camping shows and direct letterbox distribution.

The official visitors guide for the Atherton Tablelands

The only comprehensive visitor guide delivering to visitor information centres, businesses, every camping and travel show across Queensland, the East Coast and South Australia and the gateways of Mission Beach, Port Douglas, Cairns and the Northern Beaches.

Produced annually, the Atherton Tablelands Discover Visitors Guide is the region’s official tourist publication showcasing the many experiences and products the Atherton Tablelands has to offer.

Atherton Tablelands Discover Visitors Guide is the major in-print promotional vehicle for the Atherton Tablelands. It is designed to create awareness and interest in the destination to its target audience – potential visitors and current visitors – and encourage them to extend their length of stay in the region. By targeting information centres, car rental companies, accommodation tour desks, attractions, airports and other tourism related outlets, our partners are guaranteed their businesses will capture the attention of consumers that are in search of travel products and information on this region.

 

Tourism Atherton Tablelands (Atherton Tablelands Promotion Bureau Ltd) has been producing the Discover Visitors Guide for over 30 years. 

In the early years, members volunteered their time to produce the magazine.  Today, production is done in-house and is usually a cost-neutral project. Any profits that may arise, are returned back into the organisation to either support the next edition (particularly with increasing distribution costs) or back into general marketing funds.

Both Tablelands Regional Council and Mareeba Shire Council no longer support funding towards this very popular visitors guide.

The destination website www.athertontablelands.com.au receives of 750,000 page views per year and on average, 15,000 visitors per month.  The site provides visitors all the information they need to plan their holiday to the Atherton Tablelands.  The site showcases over 380 listings covering the many products, experiences, towns and travel tips to inspire the visitor to stay longer, and see more. 

The current site was provided to the region at no cost to members or Council and continues to be the number 1 resource for the visitors and the community to access destination information. 

Features of the website include travel tips (blogs), a travel directory, maps, brochures, destination information, a wish-list feature (the backpack), booking capabilities for some listings, links to our social media platforms, video collateral, campaign activity and current imagery showcasing the region.

Only members of Tourism Atherton Tablelands are listed on the website.
