The destination website www.athertontablelands.com.au receives of 750,000 page views per year and on average, 15,000 visitors per month.  The site provides visitors all the information they need to plan their holiday to the Atherton Tablelands.  The site showcases over 380 listings covering the many products, experiences, towns and travel tips to inspire the visitor to stay longer, and see more. 

The current site was provided to the region at no cost to members or Council and continues to be the number 1 resource for the visitors and the community to access destination information. 

Features of the website include travel tips (blogs), a travel directory, maps, brochures, destination information, a wish-list feature (the backpack), booking capabilities for some listings, links to our social media platforms, video collateral, campaign activity and current imagery showcasing the region.

Only members of Tourism Atherton Tablelands are listed on the website.

CAMPAIGN

Work in Paradise website (www.qld.gov.au./workinparadise) is live with information on the Work in Paradise Incentive Scheme and links to the Tourism and Hospitality Jobs Website (www.workinparadise.com.au), a hub for job seekers and employers to connect to fill jobs inthe tourism industry.  From today:

  • Jobseekers can apply for the Work in Paradise Incentive Scheme: $1500 cash payment and a $250 Job Start Travel bonus
  • Jobseekers can search for jobs at our Work in Paradise Tourism and Hospitality Jobs website
  • Employers can upload their jobs to the website for free and connect with jobseekers.

As an added incentive, there is a $200 Work in Paradise Flight Centre holiday voucher for the first 1000 Job Start Travel Bonus recipients to spend on a tourism experience or attraction anywhere in Queensland. As part of our work to help people find accommodation, the Queensland Government have partnered with Airbnb, Hostelworld, JUCY and YHA to deliver easy to find accommodation information and discount deals.

Work in Paradise builds on our $860 million in significant support for the tourism industry inresponse to the pandemic, which includes industry support and relief measures, the Holiday Dollars program and the Good to Go campaign to stimulate tourism where it’s needed most. It showcases the breadth of roles in tourism and how it is a great place to work and build a career, as well as the amazing diversity and beauty of our regions.
